What Our Clients Say
Real experiences from Toronto homeowners who trust Lighthaus Built
“
We can't recommend Lighthaus Built enough! Our three-floor renovation was on time and on budget! We had a major three-floor reno of an 1800s Victorian house that included underpinning, creating a new living space in the basement, building a soundproof music studio, and removing a load-bearing wall, to name a few. Plans and budget were clearly laid out, communication was constant, and problems that arose were brought to us with numerous recommendations for fixing. On time and on budget seem never to happen on other renos we hear about, but ours did both!.

Lighthaus Built made the entire renovation process painless… With Lighthaus, you get what you pay for - thoughtful partners, high quality work, and a painless process. We would 100% work with them again and recommend them to anyone looking to do a renovation/work on their home.

Lighthaus can do it all… Maybe this is all you need to know — after 3 projects in Toronto with Dave + John, I still like them and would hire them again. From gut and re-do to rebuild, keeping historical charm and elements, and then also to build a new laneway house from scratch, Lighthaus has the ability to do it all. They have great relationships with trades, they understand lead times for purchasing, and they can troubleshoot really tricky problems to find a solution that will work for you. Just hire them.

Dave Cook
Co-Founder
I grew up in Nova Scotia but have called Toronto home for over 25 years. After 8 years trying out life as an actor, I fell into carpentry when I bought my home. I then worked for 15 years for some of Toronto's premier builders, honing my craft as a carpenter, supervisor and project manager. Lighthaus has been the culmination of my work and personal life.
John Maher
Co-Founder
Originally from a small town just outside of Ottawa, I moved to Toronto to study architecture at the University of Toronto. Spending my summers off working for builders convinced me that my passion for design and my interest in the built environment could find an outlet in residential construction. I couldn't imagine working in any other profession.
