Why homeowners love polished concrete
The biggest draw is the look. A polished slab is very smooth and reads like one large piece of stone. As it's polished, the aggregate (the small stones mixed into the concrete) comes through the surface, creating a natural, speckled texture.

What to be aware of
We can't control where the aggregate shows up or how much of it appears. One area might have large, striking pieces while the patch right beside it shows much smaller bits. And like any porous stone, polished concrete can absorb stains over time.
